Help! I need to match my Australian Cypress floor...
"I need more Australian Cypress flooring, BUT my previous supplier doesn't carry it anymore!"
We get plenty of calls and emails from people who have bought Australian Cypress flooring from other suppliers, including Lumber Liquidators' Bellawood, and now want more, but it is no longer available. People have also heard a variety of confusing things about buying Australian Cypress flooring anywhere else or trying to match an existing floor.
So let's clear this up and help you in the process.
Customer: "Will your Australian Cypress flooring MATCH my other supplier's or my Bellawood floor? "
If you choose UNfinished flooring, you will find no visible difference except that ours is milled very smooth, ready for sanding and finishing. The finish you choose to have your installer apply can be matched to any other flooring you already have.
If your existing floor has a satin finish, great, because our PRE-finished flooring does, too, so it will match.
If your existing flooring has/had a high gloss finish, like e.g. Bellawood Australian Cypress flooring, ours would likely tie-in well IF normal wear and tear has caused a patina that has reduced the glare of your previous supplier's gloss finish, OR if the two products are separated by e.g. a tiled or carpeted area.
If you are fine with that or with putting our Satin finished flooring near your existing Australian Cypress floor from other suppliers or Bellawood, that's great, too.
For a perfect match to an existing gloss or matte floor like Bellawood's or others, the best option is to buy our UNfinished flooring for your addition then sand and finish both your existing floor and the new UNfinished flooring. Although it will involve the additional cost of sanding and finishing your entire floor, existing and new, that will give you a beautifully matched and uniform result.
Quality Wood and Specialized Process
We supply only Select Tight Knot (STK) export quality Australian Cypress in the U.S. This is the highest quality you can get anywhere, here or in Australia. We’ve never carried "seconds", "cabin" grade, "rustic" or any other such marketing ploys used by quite a number of other companies in the U.S. market.
We also think our flooring is superior because we use a different mill and finishing company compared to other manufacturer's out there like our former largest competitor (Bellawood). To start with, our Australian Cypress that is destined to become PRE-finished flooring is meticulously dried BEFORE finishing, and our finishing process has a couple of extra steps that others out there don’t do in their finishing process, so that the final result of our pre-finished flooring is a lovely smooth surface. Beautiful 💎 👑.
Supply isn't limited…
Some customers who have contacted us have been told that the reason their former supplier isn't carrying Australian Cypress flooring is because of limited supply of Australian Cypress. Huh??😁! We have plenty.
We have our own independent Australian Cypress supply, sourced as shown on the map. The wood per se is comparable. It is the same species, growing in similarly arid, inland conditions. We rely entirely on our own raw material. Also, just to clear up another bit of confusion, we've never had a relationship with Bellawood's former supplier of Australian Cypress. That particular supplier to the U.S., now closed down, was based in Gunnedah, NSW - across the border in a totally different state from where we get our Australian Cypress.
Remember, We Specialize
We've specialized in Australian Cypress for over 30 years and we know what we are doing. It isn’t just one of hundreds of types of wood for us. We're Aussies and we actually care about it. You also get a wealth of knowledge and expertise when you buy Australian Cypress flooring from us.
